The Westshore Bears travelled to the Saanich Peninsula to face the Saanich Express for the single Friday night matchup this week. The Bears determined not to fall to their cross-town rivals this week, came out hungry and tenacious and proved dominant over the first half period of the game. Connor Rant did the damage for the Bears to begin the period, scoring both Bears goals and put the home team on their heels. Kyle Drouin got the Express on the scoreboard halfway through the frame but Rant and A.J. Preston buried two more before the end of the period. The Saanich captain Bryan Toth potted one just seconds before the end of the first 20 minutes closing the gap to 4-2.

The Express scored the first of the second period on their 2nd shift with Bilodeau burying a bounce shot while being knocked to his keister. It would become a goaltenders dual for the remainder of the period with both Bears' (Ty Reeve) and Express' (Riley Gains) only allowing 3 goals each in a close defensive battle between the two top teams in the league. The Express tied the game with five minutes to go in the 2nd but Graham Brown re-established the Bears lead 7-6 going into the 2nd intermission.

The game continued to be a battle of the defences in the third. The Bears tallying a goal a quarter of the way in then again halfway through the period. The Express got into penalty trouble, then buried a shorthanded marker but that was as close as they would get as they couldn't stay out of the box and the Bears scored three more to end the period and game knocking off the previously undefeated Saanich squad. A well deserved Westshore victory!

The Saanich Express were led by Bryan Toth (3g, 2a) and Kyle Drouin (2g, 2a) while the Westshore Bears were led by Connor Rant (5g, 2a), A.J. Preston (2g, 2a), Graham Brown (2g) and Hunter Clarke (1g, 1a).
