2025 Awards

The Pacific Northwest Junior Lacrosse League Board of Governors and team staff nominated players for the following league awards; except those awards that are determined by statistics. The Board and team staff then vote for players in each category from opposing teams (not their own), to determine each winner.

Most Valuable Player

This player is judged to be the most valuable to his team in gaining the position in the standings for playoffs, etc. This player should also be a credit to the league, joining ability with good sportsmanship.

Aodhan Hildebrandt (Campbell River Ravens)

Top Rookie

This should be a player who is in their first year in the league with a maximum of 12 games played per year in prior years. If a player has played Junior A in other provinces he will not be eligible for this award.

Logan Hildebrandt (Campbell River Ravens))

Top Goaltender

Goaltender must have played in more than 40% of their games; the award based on GAA.

Kaden Ward (Saanich Express)

Most Inspirational Player

This player wears his heart on his sleeve, exudes the love of lacrosse, hardly commits penalties as he doesn’t want to miss a shift, arrives early and stays late for lacrosse and inspires everyone around him to be better!

Annika MacDonald (Cowichan Thunder)

Graduating Player

This 5th year player has been a key to his teams’ successes; have combined ability, sportsmanship and be an all around contributor to the continued growth of his club. He shows a good work ethic on and off the floor. Also, who is considered a huge loss at seasons end.

Best Defensive Player

This player will be judged on his defensive skills. This player must have ability and show good sportsmanship.

Andrew Sam (Saanich Express)

Outstanding Achievement

Is awarded to a player who demonstrates high proficiency in Box lacrosse combined with outstanding achievement in sport, citizenship, and together with high standards in academics or his chosen profession.

Willem Whitehead (Oceanside Sharks)

Most Sportsmanlike Player

This award is presented to a player who has demonstrated extraordinary team play and spirit, both in their approach to the game and their attitude towards their teammates and opponents. Low penalty minutes is also be considered.

Liam Sullivan (Nanaimo Timbermen)

Coach of the Year

The recipient of this award guides their athletes to success in sport and in life by instilling in them the values of honesty, integrity, a positive attitude, competitiveness, and a love of sport.

Bill Sanderson (Cowichan Thunder)

Executive of the Year

The recipient of this award is awarded to the top office executive involved in team operations whose team demonstrates success both on and off the floor and at the administration level through excellent organization.
