The Nanaimo Timbermen hosted the Oceanside Sharks on Wednesday May 29th at the NIC and the game started as the others, with both teams hopping and changing the momentum of the game virtually every shift. Teams traded goals to start, then the Timbermen chipped in with two straight before the Sharks bared their teeth to climb within one (3-2). Nanaimo planted another 2 goals but with 1:43 left in the period, Haftner buries the teams' third to end the first down 5-3.

Cue the comeback to start the second period, three straight goals by the Sharks gave them the lead 6-5 putting the home team on their heels... but not for long. A goal by Walls-Good and then some visits to the sin bin for the visitors allows the T-Men to bury 8 straight goals in the final 14 minutes of the frame to take a commanding 13-6 lead into the third period.

The third period seemed to be a balanced attack by both squads where the Timbermen outscored the Sharks 4-3 to get their second win of the season and second against the Sharks to move them up in league standings to 3rd place in the PNWJLL.

The Saanich Express hosted the Nanaimo Timbermen on Saturday June 1st at the Panorama Arena, home of the Peninsula Warriors. The Timbermen came out hungry and scored the first goal of the game before the Express knew what hit them. Each team alternated goals until the period was tied 4-4; then the Express notched their 5th for their first lead of the game. Nanaimo answered back with minutes left in the period to tie the match up at 5 going in to intermission.

Nanaimo returned to the floor just as focused as they did to start the game and took a 6-5 lead. The Express then settled in and with a couple of good saves by Spaven, managed to get a few odd man fast-breaks up the floor paying off with a 3 goal return. Each team alternated goals ending the period with the Express up 11-8.

A short bench caught up to the visitors and the home team were able to catch the visitors with a few 3 on 2's and 2 on 1's resulting in the home team outscoring the Timbermen 4-1 in the third period to take the win and create some separation in the standings between 2nd and 3rd place.

The Oceanside Sharks hosted the Westshore Bears on Saturday June 1st at Oceanside Place in front of a boisterous Parksville crowd. A supportive lacrosse community came out to watch their home team who's been improving each game take on the league leaders for a weekend evening affair. The Sharks played the Bears tough throughout the first period allowing a goal a quarter of the way through and then two more with 8:38 and 6:46 before the home crown roared after seeing Ryan Smith crack the goose egg. The Bears gained that goal back with just over a minute to go in the first to take a 4-1 first period lead in to intermission.

Westshore scored a shorthanded goal and then a power-play goal to lead 6-1 before Oceanside could compose themselves and get back on track. They did so by getting two of their own at 15:02 and 13:45 and climb back within 3 but the Bears shut the door and scored 4 unanswered to lead 10-3 heading to the third.

With the final 20 minutes to play the Bears continued to outwork the Sharks to loose balls and their goalie stood tall. Minor penalties came in to play for the Sharks late in the period and the Bears capitalized outscoring the home team 4-1.

Upcoming this week, all teams in action in week #7.
