Saanich held a first period lead of 4-1 but the hometown Thunder would come out hard shocking the Express in the 2nd period, with each team scoring 3 a piece.

The third period is unfortunately where Cowichan lost their thunder getting outscored 7-1 but the youthful Thunder kept their heads up high and battled to the very end.

Both teams battled hard for the 2nd period with the Bears coming out of the period with a 5-3 advantage and a 10-4 intermission lead. Final three goals in the third were by the visitors as the hometown Sharks didn't have enough swim in them to close the gap.
