Week #2 - Recap
The expansion Cowichan Thunder hosted the Saanich Express on Tuesday April 18th at the Kerry Park Arena.

Saanich held a first period lead of 4-1 but the hometown Thunder would come out hard shocking the Express in the 2nd period, with each team scoring 3 a piece.
The third period is unfortunately where Cowichan lost their thunder getting outscored 7-1 but the youthful Thunder kept their heads up high and battled to the very end.
The Thunder were led by Jake McCluskey (1g, 2a, 3pts), Austin Webb (1g, 1a, 2pts), and Brett Beauchamp (1g, 1a, 2pts). The Express were lead by Tory Bains (4g, 1a, 5pts), Colton Hauser (2g, 3a, 5pts) and Cooper Board (2g, 2a, 4pts).

The Timbermen climbed their way back in the 2nd period burying four goals but the Express tied that period output and then put in four more in the third to take the victory from the men in red.

The Westshore Bears visited the Oceanside Sharks on Saturday April 22nd at Parksville's Oceanside Place Arena. Another slow start for a home team allowed the visitors to pot the first 5 goals of the game. Oceanside countered with one before period end to get on the board.
Both teams battled hard for the 2nd period with the Bears coming out of the period with a 5-3 advantage and a 10-4 intermission lead. Final three goals in the third were by the visitors as the hometown Sharks didn't have enough swim in them to close the gap.
The Oceanside Sharks hosted the Campbell River Ravens on Sunday April 23rd @ 2:30pm at the Oceanside Place Arena. The Sharks opened the scoring with 2 straight before the Ravens would pot their first of the season. The Sharks then scored 2 more to the Ravens 1 to take a 4-2 first period lead.
The Sharks then won the second period 2-0 and the third 6-3 to get their second win of the season which puts them tied for first place in PNWJLL standings.
