2022 Preview: Westshore Bears

WESTSHORE BEARS

LAST SEASON: 6-0
PLACE: 1ST
PLAYOFF RECAP: WON PNWJLL PLAYOFFS IN 2019
PROVINCIALS: 4TH

The Westshore Bears had a tremendous run in 2019 (16-0) and 2021 (6-0) and seek the same for 2022. Every year teams lose and gain players due to aging out, attrition and other commitments but the Bears will remain strong heading in to the upcoming season. They have lost a large number of players since the 2019 season but with a strong core and a plethora of talent from the Juan de Fuca midget teams and free agents to look to, they will be in the mix for certain again this season.

The Bears will look to Head Coach Ryan Alexander with Assistant Wil Chiasson to lead a good returning group for the upcoming season. The Bears will have Ty Reeve (.710 SV%, 4.50 GAA), Hayden Cardinal (13G, 17A, 30PTS), Will Perrier (13G, 12A, 25PTS), Jaxon Parkhouse (12G, 5A, 17PTS), and (Ryan Blundell (6G, 7A, 13PTS), to lead their returning roster and upcoming graduating midgets this season. The Bears should have a good core of first and second year players joining them once releases are made by the Victoria Junior B1 Shamrocks.

The Q Centre Arena will be bellowing the roar of the Bear once again in 2022 as the Bears look to stay atop the PNWJLL standings.
