2020 PREVIEW: Westshore Bears

WESTSHORE BEARS

LAST SEASON: 16-0
PLACE: 1ST
PLAYOFF RECAP: WON PNWJLL PLAYOFFS
PROVINCIALS: 4TH

The Westshore Bears had a tremendous run in 2019 and seek the same for 2020. Every year teams lose and gain players due to aging out, attrition and other commitments but the Bears will remain strong heading in to the upcoming season. They will be missing the likes of Noah Holler, Brendan Michalski, Brandon Coulombe, Mike Maresca, Chris Reid and Dan Mckelvey to name a few players whom have graduated but with a strong core and a plethora of talent from Juan de Fuca and free agents to look to, they will be in the mix for certain again this season.

The Bears will look to Head Coach Ryan Alexander with Assistant Wil Chiasson to lead a good returning group for the upcoming season. The Bears will have A.J. Jensen (.819 SV%, 4.64 GAA), Hayden Cardinal (9G, 35A, 44PTS), Ryan Blundell (25G, 18A, 43PTS), Hayden Ash (16G, 15A, 31PTS), and Jarrett Blaase (14G, 15A, 29PTS) to lead their returning roster and upcoming graduating midgets this season.

The Q Centre Arena will be bellowing the roar of the Bear once again in 2020 as the Bears look to stay atop the PNWJLL standings.
