NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY

The Pacific Northwest Junior Lacrosse League invites you to recognize and celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples. We hope you make time to participate in one of the many events happening near you today and this weekend.

We honour this important day and acknowledge that we live, work, learn and play on the traditional territories of more than 200 distinct Nations across the province. And while today is National Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we all have a responsibility in making reconciliation part of our daily lives.

Our sport plays a large role in many Indigenous communities. And while the game of lacrosse is just one way different cultures interact with Indigenous Peoples, the sport continually brings many groups together to further these bonds and friendships.

The PNWJLL are proud to provide a league for all to represent as we continually build our relationships with Indigenous Nations, based on a foundation of respect and kindness.
